Coem is member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the American association charged with implementing and regulating the construction of sustainable buildings by way of LEED® certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). As a result of their technical and structural characteristics, many of our products can help buildings improve their LEED® ratings, and have been certified for this purpose by the independent body CERTIQUALITY. Our products comply with the LEED® requirements for high content of recyclable material.
The index of refraction to light intrinsic to the porcelain stoneware support guarantees maximum thermal insulation and an optimum energy performance. Easy to clean as well as hygienic, our products contribute to enhancing the quality and safety of areas within buildings. The requirements of eco-sustainability do not interfere with the aesthetic quality of the porcelain stoneware support, which is consistently at the avant-garde of design and technological innovation.
Our products reflect a philosophy that is truly conscious of the importance of the environment and is focused on improving the quality of life. This is why we develop eco-sustainable ceramics without any negative effect on looks and functional features yet respect the environment we live in. Our certifications are the outcome of the decision taken at Ceramiche Coem to implement our own environmental management system, resulting in important process- and product certifications since the early 2000s, in line with regulations for environmental sustainability and reduction of impact on the environment.
COEM is mentioned once again as once of the outstanding experiences illustrated in the GreenItaly 2015, the report on the green economy in Italy drafted by the Symbola Foundation and the Unioncamere Association and presented in Rome on 2015, 30 October.
COEM S.p.A. is especially proud to announce that we have obtained a further quality and environmental certification, and that the COEM factory has adopted the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
